SHOPPING TRIP

Inner City shopping in Edinburgh is a delight. The city is almost designed for tourists and certainly provides much to see even during a serious shopping spree. So shopping and sightseeing can be combined and that is exactly what happens on this trip. It is suggested that our party meets at the City Chambers at the top of the Royal Mile. From there we can explore some small antique jewelers and tartan gift shops before taking the plunge down the Royal Mile. Here we can find traditional Scottish craft shops as well as wool and cashmere designer boutiques. A left turn onto Jeffrey Street, takes us past specialist glassware, dress and shoe boutiques, coffee shops and a view of the North Bridge, Scottish Office buildings and the City Art Centre before discovering the Waverley Centre.

This is an underground shopping area on three levels being especially designed for visitors there is a remarkable choice of wares on display in a carnival atmosphere. From here, it is up to Princes Street, and views of the Castle, Princes Street Gardens and the Scott Monument. Some may wish to spend time in all three, but today more importantly, there is Jenners Edinburgh's premier department store.

It has kept the traditional values of service and choice and simply beckons everyone to sample the delights within from designer clothes to food halls. Some of our party may end the trip here and take advantage of Jenner's four restaurants. Others may wish to visit Marks and Spencers next door, and the very sturdy may wish to spend yet more time, and money, on a visit to some specialist designer shops. Escada, on George Street and Jane Davidson in Thistle Street will allow you to indulge in 'haute couture par excellence.' And this is only one morning's trip we can guide you on many more...
