Anthony is Professor of Modern Languages and Cultures at Iona College.  He is also Professor Emeritus at Pace University.

Research Interests:

  • Fictional prose of 16th and17th centuries Romance literatures: e.g.Jean-Pierre Camus, Matteo Bandello, Cervantes
  • Literary theory: reader response criticism
  • Second language acquisition and strategies for teaching French culture

Memberships:

American Association of Teachers of French, WACRA, Papers on Seventeenth Century French Literature, Christianity and Literature, American Association of Teachers of Spanish and Portuguese, Société des Professeurs Français et Francophones en Amérique, Sixteenth Century Studies Conference.

Awards:

NEH Summer Seminars for College Teachers at Columbia (1984), Princeton (1986), Duke (1994), Kenan Award for Teaching Excellence (Pace, 1986-87), several Summer Research grants and NEH Challenge grant awards from Dyson College, released time awards and three sabbatical leaves for research activities.
