Marcus Hurt is Associate Dean directing the MBA Program of EDHEC Business School, Lille, France where he is also Professor of Management and Strategy. He has also served on the faculties of the University of Lille III and the Catholic University of Lille. His teaching interests lie in the fields of organizational behavior, management and strategic management. He has focused on competitive analysis and strategic options, financial structures and industries, European industrial organization and industry dynamics, European international strategies and multinational structures, the history of management theory, international business and management, organizational behavior and management as well as resume-writing and job-seeking for students, graduates and executives.

Professor Hurt is currently researching into the internationalization strategies of food retailing groups worldwide, with a particular focus on their implantation in Central Europe, research that he carries out with his wife, Stéphanie Hurt, also a member of the WACRA Advisory Board. His particular interest is in industry structures and the transnationalization of industries and industry players in Europe.

He has long been a writer of cases and simulations for management teaching. In his creative teaching writing, he has focused on issues of recruitment, power and politics, financial analysis, strategy and change management. His case "Cap Gemini Sogeti" won the Award of The European Foundation for Management Development for the best case in the category 'European Strategy Management' and was published in strategy textbooks in the US. Many of his cases are currently published by the European Case Clearing House at Cranfield School of Management. He has read several papers at both ACT and WACRA conferences. He is also a member of the WACRA Standards Setting Committee
