| Robert DeMichiell is Professor Emeritus of Computer Information Systems at Fairfield University and Professor Emeritus at the United States Coast Guard Academy. He has over thirty years experience in teaching, research, and administration in higher education, business, and government. His scholarly and consulting work focuses on strategic planning for computer resource acquisition, analysis and design of information systems for decision support, and the impact of information technology on organizations and society. Dr. DeMichiell has presented major papers and workshops at national and international conferences and has published in numerous professional journals. He has managed computing centers, computing laboratories and user service centers for academic instruction and for administrative applications. His consulting and training seminar experience is in the area of management, computer system feasibility and selection, and end-user computing. Dr. DeMichiell received a bachelor's degree from the United States Coast Guard Academy and his master's and Ph.D. from the University of Connecticut. He has received awards for teaching excellence, administrative effectiveness and educational leadership. | ||
