Program Summary

Saturday, June 28, 2003. WACRA Board meets. In the afternoon [for those who arrive early] optional visit to a local City Hall. The mayor will explain how a municipal services in France are rendered. A late afternoon visit to a Centre Commercial à la Française (French shopping mall) is followed by an outdoor dinner on the shores of the River Garonne.

Sunday, June 29, 2003. Sunday all day WICS - WACRA Interactive Case Sessions. The evening reception for all participants of the 20th WACRA Conference will take place at Le Café Louis under the arcades of the Bordeaux Opera House in the center of the city (within close walking distance of the three conference hotels).

Monday morning June 30 through Wednesday afternoon, July 2, 2003. The conference plenary sessions, followed by concurrent tracks for workshops and presentations, take place.

Monday June 30, 2003.  After the opening plenary session, the partner tour/activity leaves for the Museum of Contemporary Art which includes a lecture on "Portrayal of The Child in Contemporary Art". The hot air balloon experience (as advertised earlier) is no longer available. The company operating the balloon went out of business.

Monday evening, June 30, 2003. Gala evening at the Palais de la Bourse (owned by the Bordeaux Chamber of Commerce). After a reception by the President of the Chamber, two exceptional events will permit you to discover the essence of the region: the induction of WACRA by la Confrèrie (Brotherhood) de Loupiac, (Vin d'Appellation Contrôllée) and the performance of a Basque Choir.

Tuesday afternoon, July 1, 2003. Afternoon excursion (for all registered delegates and partners) to the famous village of St. Emilion, a UNESCO world heritage site. Visit of the castle and free time to discover the medieval town and make a few great buys. In the evening dinner at La Maison de Bordeaux including a visit to Bordeaux Planet.

Wednesday evening, July 2, 2003. Optional 'dinner cruise' on board of the Aliénor on the River Garonne. Includes visit of the harbour, ride towards the Citadelle de Blaye and the shores of Médoc.
